Malaysian Value

The Proton Preve is quite a bargain in price and spec terms. Can it rattle the competition?

When it comes to pricing its cars in Thailand, Proton rarely, if ever, fails to miss the mark.

Take the latest Preve compact saloon as an example. In range-topping Premium form at 759,000 baht, not a single player in the Thai C-segment can match it for price.

The Preve Premium has a 138hp 1.6-litre petrol-turbo, CVT automatic, cabin-filled airbags, stability and traction control and navigation system.

    * The Prevé is good value for money, that's all that matters for a car like it.

I'm sorry, but I must say that this review is quite unprofessional.

You claim the car lacks 'comfort'...and you compare the ride quality of the Prevé with the Ford Focus? The Focus is not even in the same class. And is it fair to expect leather & high quality plastics from a car of this price? The Prevé is a budget family car,it doesn't need leather. What it needs is good safety equipment & practicality. The Prevé Premium spec comes with 6 airbags,ESC,BA&TC all for 759k baht. The highest spec Corolla only has 2 airbags and the Civic's got 4, and both are 1.1M+ baht.

Sorry but this car by Proton just looks to bland for my taste! Compared with the Hinda City, Mazda 3 and Nissan Sylphy it's design doesn't really cut it.
759.000 Baht without the mentioned before safety features? Ok just for the bare version perhaps. If you wanna have these safety options you Pay PrettySecret close to 900.000 Baht.
