Super-large SUVs like the Toyota Land Cruiser VX series (aka Lexus LX) are popular in the US and Middle East, where petrol is relatively cheap and road space is abundant.
So what gives Mercedes-Benz a good reason to import the GL-class gargantuan sport-ute to Thailand on an official basis? Well, there isn’t exactly one, but the chaps at the Thai Mercedes office merely wants to please people who actually might have always wanted such a kind of a vehicle.
It’s alleged that potential buyers of the GL would be those who already have several cars in their garages, those who are really well-off who use an S-class for the daily grind and are looking for another form of transport for holidays.
