Police to propose lifting of ISA

The peace-keeping centre chaired by police chief Adul Saengsingkaew has resolved to propose to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra that the government lift the Internal Security Act and four subsequent announcements for authorities to cope with the rally of the Pitak Siam group, Pol Maj-Gen Piya Uthayo, the police spokesman said.

Pol Maj-Gen Piya said the proposal would be tabled to the cabinet for consideration on Monday.

The government on Nov 22 imposed the ISA, which was to be in effect until Nov 30, in three Bangkok districts -- Dusit, Phra Nakhon and Pomprap Sattruphai -- covering the rally grounds.
