FTI chief cancels meeting to oust him

The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) chairman on Sunday made a last-ditch bid to prevent moves to oust him, ordering members to suspend a meeting on Monday.

FTI chairman Payungsak Chartsutthipol on Saturday submitted a letter to FTI members saying that the committee meeting originally scheduled for Monday will be called off due to concerns that severe disagreements will arise.

"Those that are going to hold a meeting might be doing so according to their rights, but we [the FTI] have declared that there will be no meeting," said Mr Payungsak.

I don't know K. Payungsak (or his political opinions), but, when true, it'd be the perfect example of the way the (old and new) 'elite' thinks to be above all rules and laws of the land. Where despots and dictators of all kinds and sizes thrive, Democracy cannot hatch, nor Justice blossom! Go on with it K. Sommat!
