@Disc 19 - You might want to check the figures this year and see how many are dead. Don't be too surprise if its a new pinnacle.

"According to the IEP, there were at least 173 violent incidents in Thailand's three southernmost border provinces in 2011 that could be documented as terrorism, leaving 142 dead and 427 injured.
Over the decade, the unrest reached a pinnacle in 2009, particularly in Narathiwat's Cho Airong district, the IEP report said."
So who was in charge in 2009? in 2010, and over half of 2011? and who is the political kingpin of the South? his name starts with an S

Thailand ranks 8th, at least not in the top 5, maybe that is why Chalerm says there are no terrorist! What a funny guy.

According to Transparency International Thailand is also the 88th least corrupt country out of 176 countries, between Swaziland and Zambia.

Discussion 15 whatajoke : never look at other's comments on the surface only. The hidden meanining in discussion 9 implies that indicting those red shirt protestors with a terrorism charge during the AV's tenure is a laughing stock at the international level. Hope it is not too difficult for you to catch the point now with my elaboration..

D6 & D9 Musashi & Android - I suppose you could also say that under Abhisit's term the centre of Bangkok was terrorised by protestors, By terrorised I mean; invading hospitals and threatening the staff, firing projectiles from the protest group into the general public, inciting arson, conducting arson, arming themselves with a militia, firing at the army while posing as 'peaceful protestors'. And funnily several of those who were subsequently charged with terrorism are now in our govt! The situation in the south waxes and wanes regardless of the colour of the govt, it's escalated on resentment caused by tak bai and krue se back in 2004.

"Over the decade" means more than 10 years. So who was in charge for most of that time? It wasn't AV.

  • Discussion 13 : 06 Dec 2012 at 01.5313

TAT has its work cut out for itself lately. Too bad they have lost most objective credibility.

    @ Discussion 8 (truegrit):

Facts: Thaksin was deposed in 2006, Samak and Somchai in 2008.

    @ Discussion 2 (borrocks):

    “… the unrest reached a pinnacle in 2009 …”
