BRUSSELS - Identical twins were allowed to take their lives together after their dwindling eyesight became an unbearable burden, a Belgian newspaper has reported.

The men died on Dec 14, Het Laatste Nieuws reported, in the first case in the world of twins using the legal right to euthanasia.

The 45-year-old men, who were born deaf, had spent their entire lives together, the newspaper reported. They grew up in the same room, both qualified as shoemakers and later moved into the same apartment in Putte, 30 kilometres northeast of Brussels.

A zygote, like fetal tissue evolving into a nine-month term fetus is not a human being if it cannot sustain life on its own following either the C-section or passage through the birth canal. The tissues belong to the woman and only the woman (no one else, no male nor female) can tell the one carrying the fertilized egg whether or not the woman can keep it or remove it as unwanted growth. There is no synopsis of the cortex in the first tri-mester, nor is there any reality of a "baby" before the end of the second. Abortion is a private matter and the right to determine the destiny or destruction of fertilized egss rests with the woman.

No bishop, priest, pope, pastor, rabbi, ayatollah, mullah or other clergy of any religion has any right to tell any person he or she cannot commit doctor-assisted suicide. It is a private matter and death is preferred by many who cannot bear the travails and troubles of life, of loss of motor skills and destructive diseases. Wow, what a humane country. This would never be allowed in the USA. Being "politically correct" is all they care about these days. The media/California sold it, appears more than half of America bought it. It seems being oh so cute and saying/doing the same thing for everyone is the socialistic way now. I guess obama and the cohorts are having their way,,,,,,,so far. It won't last too long though, the REAL people will rise before long. I suppose with these twins that one more barrier was just more than they could live with. R I P
