Kachin sceptical of ceasefire

NAY PYI TAW - Kachin rebels cast doubt on Saturday over a Myanmar government pledge to end a military offensive after weeks of intense fighting that sparked international concern amid reports of fresh shelling.

The government move on Friday came after parliament called for a halt to the fighting, which has left dozens reported dead in northern Kachin state and marred optimism about the country's political reforms.

No country allows armed groups to make war against the government. The problem is with the Kachin and their drug lords there is where the problem rest. Since all ethnicity in the country made peace with the central government why the Kachin cant do? They tried this already during colonial times with the British and whether the Brits could handle them nor they got what they wanted from the Brits, that goes on since long time. Thy are a tribe of notorious mountain people who just dont want to integrate but they better do as all other Myanmar's do. They are the last stubborn group and they fight a loosing battle!
