Sonthaya: Father's jail transfer lawful

The transfer of Somchai "Kamnan Poh" Khunploem from Bangkok to Chon Buri prison and his rapid admission to the provincial hospital for emergency treatment were within the rights of a prisoner as allowed by the law, his son, Culture Minister Sonthaya Khunploem, said on Tuesday.

Mr Sonthaya said his father is now under the care of doctors.

“Everything will be done according to the law” says Sonthaya. What law? If his Dad was as sick as he makes out why was he not admitted as an in patient at Samitivej Hospital when he first went there? He can’t have been that ill. Then why do some prisons have their own hospitals and what are they for? These are state hospitals, yes. What if Mr Joe Public was on the run from the law, and caught under the same circumstances, where would he be now? Locked up and certainly not in Chonburi Hospital.
    Double standards all the way.

In a Normal world a MP that has been helping his father should resign as a MP

It is just wrong that a Government MP in a high post new and was opening helping his father

This will give Thailand a more of a bad name then a sily Sex Vid

Given his condition, I agree that he has been suddenly apprehended just so he can get care in hospital. Many actors in this play.
