D2 one main reason is to allow or encourage tourist to stay longer and that they will spent more money in the place and Thai will have more money hahahah... everything is money. all that comes out from our mouth is profit.. money and money and more money....

You assume a lot. You are implying officials actually had a strategy in advance to do this as to increase revenues. Why not just "standard incompetence", a more likely scenario. Prior to speaking the language it is easy to believe problems are due to a language barrier. Once you become fairly fluent you realize incompetence permeates society except for asmall %. Apologies to those peo

'The delay would have no impact on tourism activities .....she said.' So thousands of tourists trying to get a hotel/resort/guesthouse/ airline/railway to suddenly change bookings made weeks and months ago is not tourism related? This woman is clearly destined for a cabinet post.

More likely to piss off tourists.

Perhaps this totally non-Thai drunken revilry could be cancelled instead of just postponed.

I hope that these adjustments were well advertised ahead of time. Most travellers are on tight schedules and are not necessarily in a position to "extend their stay". Adjusting the party dates to avoid Buddhist holidays, fair enough, but if you have not "put the word out" months ago, you risk having a lot of disgruntled tourists.
