NONTHABURI -- Thirty-six illegal migrants were rounded up in a raid on Bang Yai City market in Bang Yai district early Wednesday and charged with illegal entry.

The raid was carried out about 200 military, police and labour officials led by Nisit Chansomwong, the Nonthaburi governor, and Pol Maj Gen Surasak Prakamakul, the provincial police chief.

In the operation, 233 workers from Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia were brought for questioning. Thirty-six were found to be undocumented and charged with illegal entry.

They would be deported after going through legal procedures, said Mr Nisit.
