Telecommunication regulators have granted a licence to Plan B Media Plc to provide ad-supported free WiFi service on air-conditoned public buses in Bangkok.
The telecommunication panel of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission approved the licence at its meeting on Friday.
Plan B Media entered into an agreement with the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority to provide the free service with a 10-second advertisement every 15 minutes.
The meeting also endorsed the revised complaint filing procedure so that operators will have to consider a complaint within 15 days from 30 days earlier.
Plan B Media provides out-of-home media advertising services in three categories — transit, outdoor and in-store media.
PLANB shares rose 5 satang to 5.80 baht in trade worth 28.09 million baht on the Stock Exchange of Thailand on Friday.
