Thailand's three largest mobile operators announced at noon on Saturday their customers could make free international calls to and from France during the weekend.
Advanced Info Service (AIS) said its users in Thailand could make free international direct dialling (IDD) calls (003) to France until midnight on Sunday Thailand time.
Customers in France can also call Thailand and make local calls in France for free during Saturday and Sunday.
Total Access Communication (DTAC) also offers very similar services but limits calls made from France to Thailand by relatives planning to go there to the equivalent of 1,000 baht of the roaming fee.
True Move only allows free calls from France to Thailand until midnight Sunday but not free calls from Thailand to France.
The phone numbers of the Thai embassy in Paris are: +33603599705 and +33646719694.
CAT Telecom, a state-owned service provider, said calls can be made to the Thai embassy in Paris by dialling 00180033001001.
Its MY mobile service customers can also make calls to France from now until midnight on Sunday.
