JAKARTA -- Car sales in Indonesia rebounded 37.2% in July from a year earlier, according to PT Astra International Tbk citing data released by the automotive industry association on Monday.
Automakers sold 84,905 vehicles in July, the data showed.
On a monthly basis, car sales were also up 27.9% from June.
PT Astra International is an Indonesia-based firm primarily engaged in the automobile business. Sales contracted almost 28% in June from a year earlier, during the long Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday.
Seasonal factors were likely the reason for the bounce in July.
