PAD and foreigners
Re: KICK OUT THE FOREIGNERS!!
Enforce all the laws in the Western world that are enforced here in Thailand against Western people and this includes the ones that live here parentally. So in the Western world Thais can not buy a house or own property. When a Thai man gets married to a Western woman he has to report to immigration every 90 days. When the Thai man uses his marriage visa as a means to stay he has to leave the country within 2 weeks when his wife dies (yes this is the law in Thailand). The list is endless for the Western person that wishes to stay in Thailand the laws are on the immigration post board. How many Thais do you think would be permitted to live in the Western world? I think at least over 50% would be back in Thailand, as the laws are very harsh here in Thailand for the Western. I have a few, who live here, and they told me the law that they must abide by, and they are very strict.

I think the elite are so ensconced in their little world they don't even know there IS a tiger, so when it appears, it's going to be one hell of a surprise to them.

I won't disagree with you in regards to far too many Westerners having the "superior" attitude, but not all of them. I have been coming to Thailand for vacations for over 30 years, bringing my 1st wife with me for all but the last 2 vacations, which I took after she died of cancer. It was on my last vacation here that I was introduced to the wonderful woman who I am now proud, and very fortunate, to call my wife. I think the men who come here, marry, and then elect to live here, do so because of their love for the country and the people, and in them there is no feeling of "superiority". If anything, as in my case, there is often times a feeling of sadness over the plight of so many poor, wishing we could do something about it, or that the government would.
Depending on the political situation, after the first of the year my wife and I plan to start teaching English, and other subjects, to as many of the children near us who are unable to attend school. Two hours a day, 5 days a week in our home, at no cost to the children or their parents. We have a Se-Lor driver who has volunteered to pick the children up, bring them to our house, then return in 2 hours to take them home.
We are doing this not for any form of "gratitude" or "recognition" from anyone, but because we both want to help these children and possibly - possibly - open some doors for them that will give them a better life than what they are facing now. Are those the actions and motivations of someone who feels "superior"???

Without the Farangs what will be Thailand....The same than Australia without the white people
If Thailand has progress at the international scale it is because of the presence of Farangs...
80% of all the medical doctors has learn in other countries than Thailand to be honest give to Ceasar what belongs to Ceasar
What Thailand has to understand is the relation between farangs and Thai is good when honest...
I am not talking of farangs coming in Thailand to use the Thai people but people whom love Thailand and respect Thai people..
I got a family Thai educated, they love me like a brother and respect me like a respect them...
Everybody in the town they live worship me...I am a big man and often pregante Thai Lady come and rub my tommy and tell me it is for good luck and in my mind I wish them all good luck because that is the generation of Thai who will conquer the world business...
It is sure that may be a lot of the Thai population is not educated and poor but they got heart like us...
My family has 4 children and I feel that my last years of life it is my duty to give them back the love they give to me...
I want to come to educate this children teaching things I have learn during my life....First thing languages as it is very important for the future..
I am a farang but I believe in Thai people and it is up to us to understand them and help them with our heart for my family and the Town I am not a farang but just a man like they are.... and I agree 150% with Just 1 Voice as I think like he think
I have always considered all Thai people equal to me...My chauffeur sleep in a room same as mine and eat with me when I go to top Farang restaurant .I am amuse when he eats my type of food and like it...He is my friend and not a servant and I talk to him with respect I call him Mr Lam he is for me like a young brother...I trust him he trust me...I woulg like sometime to be God to take of of the misery of the poor Thai people but unluckily I am not god...
I always try to do my best with the Thai people when I go there I feel as confortable with my friend who got no money that my friends Colonels or Generals of Army and Police and I invite my friend poor in parties and nobody juge me they acept me for who I am Juste a man

So should we not just forget about this superior/inferior thing and concentrate in bigger issues at hand. Generally there is nothing wrong with being superior, just never forget to be humble, honest, respectful and most important not to be arrogant about it.
I learned many things in this forum from Thais, so I regard them as superior then me. I wonder if that is a problem for them? I am sure it is not the case.

Re: KICK OUT THE FOREIGNERS!!
I understand your reply and appreciate your feelings. Yes, there are times we all feel "superior" or "inferior". The point I was trying to make, and didn't do a very good job of, is that in response to what Jeffro said, not everyone who comes to Thailand has the attitude of superiority, although there are those who, due to their upbringing, etc., feel that way towards everyone, and not just Thai.
Believe me, when I am with a group of my wife's friends, and they all start talking 90 kph in the local dialect, I feel like a complete i.d.i.o.t, because I'm lucky if I understand 1 word out of 1,000 that shoots back and forth.
But I digress. I agree with you. Let's stick to the subject of this forum and forget the superior/inferior topic.

Westerner arrogant it will only get you so far in life this is why so many Asian country are turning of west with their high and mighty attitudes.
Think about this just in the South East Asian region there is a population of nearly 1/3 of world put the westerner population up against this you don’t even come close so you better start making friend quickly here or you find yourself back where you come from.
This is all facts not what you talk about to people paying out Thais. So sad so sad he has learnt nothing living in Thailand.

Re: KICK OUT THE FOREIGNERS!!
Hope I could clarify some here.
One more thing Just-1, sometimes I think about myself that I can speak some reasonable Thai for a little foreigner, but when I am amongst locals, I can not understand much neither and I feel like the biggest ignorant in the world even I can speak 5 languages.

Re: KICK OUT THE FOREIGNERS!!
I may be wrong, but I believe if the same situation happened in my country of Australia, as has happened here in Thailand then there would be a huge uproar. Millions of tourists coming to my country creating a massive sex industry. Old foreigners walking around hand in hand with unfortunate 20 year old local girls who have to be in the sex industry to support their families. Foreigners on forums similar to this commenting about how locals should run their country. Saying that the locals are lucky that they are there. I can understand why some Thais might be disenchanted.
I know that many foreigners love Thailand and love the people here. Many like me, do not misbehave in bars and are married to Thai girls, with families that they love dearly. But I believe it is time for the western world to show more respect to Thailand. The more tourists that arrive, the more disenchanted many Thais will become, especially if they see their daughters being abused by foreigners whose only attribute is they were born in a richer country.
