The Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra (RBSO) presents a themed concert with the programme centred around Hollywood compositions by the esteemed Hans Zimmer, in the Main Hall of Thailand Cultural Centre, Ratchadaphisek Road, on Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm.

Held in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and B.Grimm Group, "Hollywood Soundtracks By Hans Zimmer" promises to be a crowd-pleaser and a family-friendly event with movie compositions by the German film score composer and music producer who has won two Oscars and four Grammys and has been nominated for three Emmys and a Tony.

Since the 1980s, Zimmer has composed music for over 150 films and has collaborated on multiple projects with directors and has cemented himself as one of the greatest movie composers with his incredible influence on contemporary film scores.

The orchestra will perform music from beloved franchises such as Pirates Of The Caribbean, which would be incomplete without its evocative soundtrack. The musical elements mirror the fast pace of the movie and the unpredictable nature of the protagonist, Jack Sparrow.

Meanwhile, The Dark Knight theme is frightening and larger than life, with pulsing drums and the hum of string instruments. Unlike his typical heavy or bass-driven scores, his work on Interstellar is light and almost flightless. It's a gentle and almost fragile score driven by an emotional story.

The repertoire will also feature many other incredible soundtracks such as the ethereal melody of Kung Fu Panda or the exciting Woad To Ruin from King Arthur.

Leading the concert will be Vanich Potavanich, who has served the RBSO as a conductor since 1995. He's also active as a composer, arranger, and principal trumpet player.

Tickets cost 600, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 and 2,500 baht (half price for students and seniors aged 60 and above).
