The "National Research Expo 2020" will kick off on Sunday with a showcase of more than 300 research works and over 100 seminars at Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Center at CentralWorld, daily from 9am to 6pm until Aug 6.
Organised by the National Research Council of Thailand in collaboration with research networks from across the country, the 15th edition of the expo is a national platform that gathers quality research, technology and innovations under the concept of "Research For National Development: Moving Towards Stability, Prosperity And Sustainability".
The expo is aiming for progress in five key areas -- to develop human forces and knowledge institutes; to solve challenging problems in society; to enhance competitiveness; to boost area-based development and reduce inequality; and to drive the BCG Economy Model.
The exhibition zone will be packed with new creations from all research institutes, innovations to tackle emerging diseases, research and innovations for communities, and inventions developed by universities.
Among the highlights are a Covid-19 detection kit, equipment to protect medical staff from Covid-19, a water surface cleaning robot and a project to solve the wild elephant problem in Thailand.
Also on show will be technology to produce fresh water from sea water, a solar-powered water pump for remote areas and biodegradable products made from straw.
