The 52nd National Book Fair and the 22nd Bangkok International Book Fair will kick off on Thursday and run daily from 10am to 9pm until April 8, at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center's Hall 5-7, Ratchadaphisek Road.

Held under the "Booklympics" concept by the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand (Pubat), the National Book Fair will bring a million books from 330 publishing houses at over 900 booths.

The event has three major zones. The Book Zone presents seven categories of books -- novels and literature, comics and books for teenagers, children's and educational books, foreign books, general books, old books and non-books.

Highlights of the Exhibition Zone include the "Cat Country" exhibition featuring translated literature by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and the Outstanding Book Exhibition 2024 by the Office of the Basic Education Commission.

The Activity Zone will be packed with over 100 activities. Highlight will be the Booklympics competition which looks for five talents in book cover designer, story plot writer, proofreader, top seller and best reader.

The 22nd Bangkok International Book Fair, meanwhile, will see 18 booths by 11 international publishers from nine countries including Taiwan, Japan, China and Ukraine. They will present books that cover printing technology, culture and language education.

There is no admission fee. Visit facebook.com/bookthai.
