Patek Philippe's artistic horology has given 30 clocks for the Rare Handcrafts 2024 collection.

The new creations include the maison's first table clocks -- the Carp And Water Lilies -- featuring wood marquetry.

For each dial, 385 tiny veneer parts and 25 inlays are cut out and assembled, together spanning a palette of 36 species of wood of different colours, textures and veining.

The resulting work of art invites gazing down into the depths of a pebble pond with carp and water lilies. The three versions differ in the enamel coating on the silver circular side panels.

The other pieces are domed table clocks, whose larger dimension makes them an ideal medium for artisanal crafts such as cloisonné enamel and miniature painting on enamel.

Other techniques include Longwy enamel on faience used for a unique piece depicting hawthorn blossoms on a turquoise background.

Another notable dome table clock celebrates the centenary of the eighth modern-day Olympiad, held in Paris in the summer of 1924. Inspired by posters of the period, the Art Deco style is enriched by cloisonné and paillonné enamel as well as miniature painting on enamel.
