Don't think too much, just go Ga Ga Ga for barefoot Palmy

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

Palmy is about to bare all, of her feet, in two acoustic concerts with a country-folk vibe at Bitec on the weekend of Sept 21 and 22.

The ‘Palmy Barefoot Acoustic Concert’ will take place at Bitec’s Hall 106 on Sept 21-22 at 7pm.

The Kid Mak and Ga Ga Ga chanteuse is known for her bohemian edge and loves to perform barefoot on stage _ one of her trademarks along with her distinctive voice, flowing hair and wardrobe choices.

The "Palmy Barefoot Acoustic Concert" will feature hit singles from her four albums _ Palmy (2001), Stay (2003), Beautiful Ride (2006) and 5 (2011) _ but with a twist. This will be the first time Palmy will perform in a country-folk style.

"It is the music style I always wanted to do but have never got the chance. This is like a dream come true to me," Palmy said.

The half-Thai, half-Belgian pop-rocker formally known as Eve Pancharoen has apparently hand-picked leading musicians from New York to join her on stage.

Taking the role of music director will be Hugo, aka Chulachak Chakrapong, the only Thai artist signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation label.

"I'm very glad to be working with Palmy once again," said Hugo.

"All I have to do is bring her hit music through filter drums and take out all the electric instruments while maintaining the fun of country-folk music. I strongly believe that no one in Thailand has ever experienced music like this before and they will absolutely like it."

The concerts will be held at Bitec's Hall 106, Bang Na-Trat Road, on Sept 21 and 22, both starting at 7pm.

Tickets range from 1,000 to 3,000 baht and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major booths. Part of the proceeds will be donated to The Elephant's World, a conservation centre in Kanchanaburi.
