Japanese pianist Moto Shibui will give a piano recital at Sala Sudasiri Sobha on Aug 23 at 7.30pm.

The evening programme will feature Bach's Italian Concerto, BWV 971, Rachmaninov's Morceaux De Fantaisie and Prelude In C-Sharp Minor, Op 3, No. 2, Chopin's Scherzo No. 1 In B-Minor, Op 20, and Liszt's Ballade No. 2 In B-Minor, S171/R16.
The former instructor at Mahidol University's College of Music started playing the piano at the age of four. She studied at Tokyo College of Music in Japan, Anton Bruckner University in Austria and Carl-Maria-von Weber Music University in Germany where she's based.
She won first prize at the Saitama Piano Competition in 1996 and Austrian Boesendorfer-Stipendium Competition in 2006. She taught piano at Nat Studio in Bangkok for two months in 2009 and at Jade Learning Centre in Hat Yai in 2010. She regularly performs as a soloist, ensemble player and accompanist.
Ticket cost 500 baht with proceeds going towards the Gift of Life Foundation to help needy blood disease patients. Seats are limited.
