Former abbot of Wat Or Noi and People’s Democratic Reform Committee protest leader Luang Pu Buddha Issara has stirred controversy for his role in anti-government rallies. The monk who describes himself as a “war elephant” risks being defrocked for violating religious and secular rule – but insists that all he does is speak from his heart, care for his country and love the King.
