Chiang Mai University has imposed regulations on tourists, following complaints by its staff and students about Chinese visitors causing disturbances around its campus. The institution has become a popular sightseeing spot for Chinese tourists after the success of the 2012 Hangover-esque comedy ‘Lost in Thailand’.  Many of them, wanting to experience the journey taken by a character in the film, have boarded on-campus buses, snuck into classrooms, and pitched tents inside the establishment.
