A young stockbroker admitted to police on Friday that she was one of two women who had an affair with late billionaire contractor Chuwong Sae Tang and that her mother received 30 million baht in shares from him.

Uracha Wacharakulton, a 25-year-old broker with AEC Securities Plc, her mother, Srithara Promma, and their lawyer reported to Crime Suppression Division police yesterday to answer questions related to Chuwong, 52, who died in a car accident in Bangkok in June.

Ms Uracha said she met Chuwong, owner of Standard Performance Co, through her securities business contacts, but said she had not handled his trading account.

She also knew former deputy commerce minister Banyin Tangpakorn, who was the driver in the fatal accident. Her interview with police lasted two hours.

Assistant police chief Prawut Thawornsiri said Ms Uracha admitted she had been in a relationship with Chuwong since March and that Pol Lt Col Banyin knew about the affair.

She insisted 30 million baht in shares from Chuwong was transferred to her mother's account, not 40 million as earlier reported.

Some of the shares were later sold on the market and she spent the money for personal use, Ms Uracha told police.

Ms Uracha is the second woman to come forward this week admitting to being the billionaire’s mistress. On Thursday, model and former golf caddie Kanthana Siwathanapol, 26, told police she was seven months pregnant with his child and that he had transferred shares worth more than 200 million baht to her account.

Chuwong’s family has asked authorities to investigate his death after finding out about the share transfers to the women. Police are trying to find out if there are any unusual circumstances behind his death, or whether it was an accident as it appears.

Chuwong was found dead in the front passenger seat of a Lexus sports utility vehicle driven by Pol Lt Col Banyin after the vehicle hit a tree on Chaloem Phrakiat Road, in Bangkok’s Prawet district, on June 26.
