Labour Minister Padermchai Sasomsap has vowed to clamp down on job brokers who are overcharging Thai labourers seeking work in Taiwan.
The minister made his commitment following a meeting yesterday with Grerksak Sakbodin, chairman of the Thai Overseas Manpower Association.
Mr Padermchai said the total cost of sending a Thai labourer to work in Taiwan on a contract basis is about 75,000-100,000 baht per head, including flights plus accommodation and food provided to the worker during his stay.
