American arrested for hotel safe theft

An American was arrested Wednesday for allegedly breaking into safes at a popular Koh Samui hotel and stealing money and valuables worth more than two million baht.

Pol Lt Gen Panu Kerdlappol, immigration bureau chief, said said police arrested Harris Jay Vertlieb, 53, while he was walking in front of a spa in Sukhumvit Soi 13 in Bangkok’s Watthana district .

Mr Vertlieb was accused of using sleeping medicine-laced drinks to drug a security guard and a hotel receptionist at Seascape Beach Resort on Koh Samui, Surat Thani province, at 2am on Monday.

It must of been a well hidden security camera because I didn't notice one in reception! I'm glad he has been caught because he has completely destroyed our holiday & has caused us allot of grief!

Well I'm glad he got caught, but not soon enough because he ruined my lovely holiday with my beautiful wife! I hope he got given a good kicking for the inconvenience & stress he has caused us! He can rot in hell for all we care! How can we claim our stolen items back? He cost us a fortune!!!

So he didn't offer a sleeping pill drink to the CCTV system?
