BANGKOK - Police on Wednesday arrested a woman who concealed 2,000 methamphetamine pills up her rectum.

Immigration police at Don Mueang airport said they acted on a tip-off that the suspect, Wanrunee Ayee, 20, was smuggling illegal drugs from Chiang Rai province to Bangkok.

After the suspect arrived, she was subjetced to search. Officials later found two packages of drugs wrapped in a condom inside her rectum.

Yes,why do the police never have the courier lead them to the next guy in the delivery chain?

Like always, police is only moving air arresting drug mule. To stop drug trafficking altogether you just have to legalize it. Thai prohibitionist policy is highly inefficient but it provides bribes for police. Appealing really.

    - it is her first time and she gets "20,000-30,000"...(a price range for a one time deal) ?
    - she was to deliver it to a man in Bon Kai and authorities are looking for "additional suspects"...(what about a sting operation to catch the man in Bon Kai)?
    - 2000 pills in a condom... didn't know they have them for oversized people and that they are that stretchable

Legalization has got to be considered for those reasons stated above and more.
Many people around the world are quick to judge the drugs without actually having any understanding of what the effects are and what the negative effect they have on society is.
The biggest problem is that its a multi billion dollar business whose entire profits end up in the hands of criminals, secondly the lives of mules are effectively over if caught (99 year sentences or shot on sight crossing borders).
Legalization and regulation is surely a viable option these days, where is the harm in considering it. Prohibition continues to be an expensive failure

Well is it 20,000 baht or 30,000 baht. This is a simple question requiring a direct answer, not one that is fabricated.

Police looking for additional suspects? Is this the back end of the story?

A cheap and easy alternative scenario:
    - the woman is not stuffing drugs up her rectum
    - the price of drugs are lower, so there is less crime
    - the number of drug users remains about the same (the evidence is compelling that legalisation does not increase drug use or addiction rates, nor does criminalisation lower them)
    - corruption takes a massive hit
    - mafia scum go out of business
    - police concentrate on real crimes - murder, rape, theft, etc.
    - addicts get help

Is it hard to imagine? No. Just legalize the drugs.

Hard to do? For some reason, yes. Some apparently do not want to hurt corruption and mafia scum. Why?
