The royal medical team said on Saturday night that His Majesty the King’s lung infection had subsided after treatment for a low-grade fever, according to the 36th announcement issued by the Royal Household Bureau.
The bureau said that on Wednesday and Thursday, His Majesty had a low fever and a high pulse rate with a lot of phlegm. A blood test indicated that he had an infection and an X-ray detected some fluid in his lungs. The doctors gave him antibiotics on Thursday.
His Majesty no longer had a fever on Saturday and a blood test showed the infection had subsided, but his urine output was still minimal. Doctors, therefore, are continuing to closely monitor his condition and are administering continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) treatment.
Earlier on Sept 12, the medical team at Siriraj Hospital, where the King is being treated, had decided to cease the course of antibiotics to treat his previous respiratory infection.
