The incident occurred about 8am in a food zone.
The woman, who was not identified, kept yelling, demanding political freedom and justice.
Tourist and airport police, and security guards, tried to calm her down, asking that she put down the knives, but she initially did not cooperate.
When she finally cooled down, they quickly moved in and grabbed her. She was unhurt.
The woman was taken to the airport's medical office and later taken to a hospital for a check up. Police then asked the Chinese embassy to send someone to look after her.
Police said the woman had been seen walking around inside the passenger terminal yesterday.
