Twenty-five roads around the Grand Palace and Sanam Luang were closed to traffic from Saturday to Monday as crowds of black-clad mourners from all walks of life thronged the venues to pay their respects to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
They are:
- Chakrabongse Rd from Khao San to Ratchadamdoeng Klang
- Charoen Krung Rd between Ror Dor roundabout and Saphan Mon intersection
- Chetuphon Rd
- Din So Rd between Wan Chart and Mahannop intersections
- Kalayana Maitri Rd to Chang Rongsi bridge
- Lak Muang Rd
- Lan Luang Rd between Lan Luang and Phan Fa intersections
- Maha Chai Rd between Samran Rat and Mahakan intersections
- Maha Rat Rd
- Na Hap Phoei Rd
- Nakhon Sawan Rd between Chakkraphatdiphong and Phan Fa intersections
- Na Phra Lan Rd
- Na Phra That Rd
- Phra Chan Rd
- Phra Phiphit Rd
- Phra Sumen Rd between Wan Chart and Mahakan intersections
- Ratchadhamnoen Klang Avenue
- Ratchadamnoen Nai Avenue between Phan Phiphop and Pom Phadet intersections
- Ratchadamnoen Nok Avenue between Jor Por Ror and Phan Fa intersections
- Sanam Chai Rd from Pom Phadet intersection to Phra Rachawang police station
- Saran Rom Rd
- Sethakan Rd
- Somdet Phra Pin Klao Road between Phan Phiphop and Arun Amarin intersections
- Tanao Rd between intersections with Khao San Rd and San Chao Pho Sua
- Thai Wang Rd
Pol Maj Gen Jirasan Kaewsaeng-ek, acting commander of the Traffic Police Division, on Saturday urged mourners to go to Sanam Luang by shuttle buses or other public transport.
If necessary, motorists were advised to park their vehicles at nine locations outside the inner areas and then take shuttle buses from there.
Those locations are: Impact Muang Thong Thani, Future Park Rangsit shopping mall, Phutthamonthon area, Central Salaya shopping mall, Central Rama II shopping mall, Mega Bangna shopping mall, and Central Plaza Westgate.
They could also park their vehicles at the Police Club and Airport Link's parking areas. All of these parking venues have free shuttle bus services to Sanam Luang.
