Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and his large entourage flew from the military air terminal at Don Mueang to Narathiwat province to visit flood-hit people and follow up on security operations in the far South.
Accompanying him in the trip were Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, Interior Minister Anupong Paojinda, Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Chatchai Sarikulya, Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn, Industry Minister Uttama Savanayana, Deputy Defence Minister Udomdej Sitabutr, Deputy Education Minister Surachet Chaiwong, Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, and commanders of the three armed forces.
On arrival at Narathiwat, the prime minister and his party were to head for the city hall where Gen Prayut would preside over a meeting of security agencies and the provincial public-private consultative committee.
In the afternoon, they were to go to Wat Ron in tambon Tanyongmat of Rangae district for a briefing on the latest flooding situation. Gen Prayut would also distribute bags of survival kits to flood-hit people.
They would then proceed to the central mosque of Rangae district to meet more people affected by the flooding.
