Thai Airways has offered to put on a special service to help bring home a Thai tourist who suffered a medical emergency in South Korea.

THAI acting president Usanee Sangsingkeo said on Thursday that the airline is ready to equip a plane with a bed and medical equipment to transfer Rapeeporn Nasa-an from a Korean hospital to one in Thailand.

The airline will sponsor tickets for her family and doctors needed to accompany her on the trip, she added.

The 25-year-old graduate suffered a shock which resulted in her losing consciousness during her travel to South Korea with friends on March 23.

Her father Theerapong was with Ms Rapeeporn at a hospital in an unknown location in South Korea. She still needed a respirator until she regains conscious, he told his wife Bang-orn. The daughter was no longer in a coma, he added.

Mrs Bang-orn said the family wants to take her back to continue treatment in Thailand. The trip can be made, she said, as Korean doctors are confident Ms Rapeeporn is well enough to handle the flight home.
