Interpol will be asked to help locate fugitive Red Bull heir Vorayuth Yoovidhya, who is now subject to an arrest warrant in his 2012 fatal hit-and-run case, if he cannot be tracked down in the Britain.
Investigators have already asked the Foreign Ministry to revoke Mr Vorayuth's passport, after he repeatedly failed to report to answer charges brought against him in the case, in which a motorcycle police officer was dragged to his death after being rammed from behind by a speeding Ferrari.
Pol Col Kritsana Pattanacharoen, deputy spokesman to the Royal Thai Police Office (RTPO), said on Monday that Thai authorities were talking with British authorities about returning Mr Vorayuth to Thailand, following reports that he was staying in the UK.
The deputy police spokesman sought to allay concerns that the extradition of the 32-year-old Red Bull heir would be affected if the man had obtained foreign citizenship. The statute of limitation on the charge of reckless driving causing death did not expire until 2027, he said.
Pol Maj Gen Apichart Suriyunya, commander of the Foreign Affairs Division would discuss the issue of extradition with British authorities in Thailand, Pol Col Kritsana said. If he was not found in the UK, Interpol's Bangkok bureau would be asked to issue a Blue Notice to its 190 member countries.
A Blue Notice seeks assistance in locating, identifying or obtaining information on a person of interest in a criminal investigation. It does not seek his arrest and extradition, which involves a Red Notice.

Mr Vorayuth, also known as "Boss", faces charges of hit-and-run and reckless driving causing death. The arrest warrant has a 15-year life, starting on Sept 3, 2012 with the expiration date Sept 3, 2027.
