Three people sustained minor injuries when part of the ceiling of Central Plaza Pinklao crumbled and fell to the ground floor on Wednesday afternoon.
The ceiling collapsed around 2pm, hurting three shoppers, several witnesses posted on Twitter accounts.
They said they saw the ceiling near the food court area on the fifth floor collapse and crash down onto the ground floor.
Pol Lt Col Supasak Poreeyanon, a deputy superintendent of Bang Yikhan police station, said four cars exhibited on the ground floor were damaged.
Central Pattana Plc said the area on the top floor where the ceiling crumbled was being renovated.
The company, which operates all Central shopping centres, said it took responsibility for all damages. The cause of the collapse is under investigation and safety measures will be reinforced, it added.
