An alleged hitman from Russia and three other crime suspects from the same country have been arrested in different raids in Thailand by immigration police, who will send them back to their country.
The four Russians were brought to a briefing on Thursday by the Immigration Bureau.
The highlight was Andrey Dyatkovskiy, who, according to Immigration Bureau commander Pol Lt Gen Nathathorn Prousoontorn, was on the most wanted list of Russian authorities and on the Interpol list for allegedly killing several people.
Mr Dyatkovskiy, 35, was arrested at a petrol station in Roi Et on May 25 after his latest entry into the country on April 25. He had fled police tracking him to the southern region before moving to the northeastern province.
Mr Dyatkovskiy entered Thailand seven times, the last being in April.
Evgeny Korovin, 26, was arrested in Phuket and the date of the capture was not unveiled.
Mr Korovin and other accomplices raided an apartment in Russia in November 2013 and robbed all tenants of 5.4 million rubble (3.25 million baht), Pol Lt Gen Nathathorn said.
Russian authorities alerted Thailand after knowing that he had entered the country.
Dimitrii Shkuratov, 29, was captured at a hotel in Soi Sukhumvit 11 in Bangkok on May 19. He reportedly broke out of jail and attacked wardens in Russia.
Anatolii Samodov, 56, was arrested at a condominium in Pattaya on May 22 after entering Thailand in June 2012.
He was wanted for economic crimes involving state projects in Russia, the immigration police chief said. He and other gang members allegedly threatened other bidders to pull out of auctions so he could win the projects.
Pol Lt Gen Nathathorn said all would be deported from Thailand to Russia. Mr Dzyatkovskiy's visa has also been revoked while the other three Russians already overstayed in the country, headded.
