Public Health Ministry lifts phone charging ban

Following heavy criticism, the Public Health Ministry has issued an order to revoke a ministerial announcement prohibiting its staff from using office supplies and assets, including a ban on mobile phone charging.

The order to lift the heavily-criticised announcement, issued on Dec 29, 2017, was issued on Saturday by Dr Jessada Chokdamrongsuk, the permanent secretary for public health.

The lifting of the announcement was effective from Jan 6.

The order can be viewed on https://twitter.com/pr_moph.

Dr Jessada said earlier in an interview that since the announcement had drawn heavy criticism in the social media and among ministry officials, he would review it for the sake of the ministry's work and in the people's interest.
