Deputy government spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd said Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha considered details of the plan confusing and the projects proposed not clearly grouped into clusters serving the same river basin.
The prime minister ordered the department to clarify the details and project the benefits that could be derived during 2015 from implementation of the plan.
Col Sansern said the government has not estimated the cost of the planned projects due to their unclear clustering.
He said that the 350-billion-baht budget planned for water-management projects under the previous government was scrapped because the current administration crafted its own committee, rather than use one set up by the Yingluck Shinawatra government.
Besides, Col Sansern said, previous projects only had been studied and not put out for bidding or contracted. Therefore, he said, they were revoked.
