RATCHABURI — An unlicensed 15-year-old motorcyclist had a lucky escape when he was tossed from an overpass, fell to the road below and was hit by a car on Sunday, police said.
Pol Lt Suchart Sudkaew, an investigating offcer at Ban Pong police station, said Yutthana Laenpok was left unconscious on the road, bleeding from the mouth and nose, and with a broken arm. But he survived.
The teenager's Honda Tenna motorcycle was found on the side of the overhead bridge.
According to witnesses, and as shown by surveillance camera pictures, the boy crashed his motorbike into a concrete barrier and was thrown over the side of the bridge and fell down onto the road. An approaching bronze Mitsubishi sedan then hit and ran over him.
The boy was treated at Sancamillo Hospital. He told police that he was speeding while taking a sharp turn, and lost control of the motorbike.
