Three suspected militants wanted under warrants were arrested on Tuesday in a pre-dawn raid on three houses in Bannang Sata district of Yala province by a combined government force acting under martial law, reports said.
In a search of the first house in Tano Pute village at 4am, security officials arrested Matohe Silae, a leading member of an RKK separatist group wanted under two warrants for security-related cases.
At the second house in the same village, they took into custody Saudi Ding-useng, who tried to escape by going up on the roof of the house. He finally surrendered and had in his possession a .357 calibre pistol and some ammunition. He is on police record as a united front member of the RKK.
At the third house, security officials arrested Mahama Hamidong, a suspected RKK militant wanted under a warrant.
The three suspects were handed over to the 43rd Rangers Task Force for interrogation and further legal proceedings.
