Three people were killed and two others injured when their pickup truck skidded off a road and overturned as they were heading to Doi Inthanon in Chiang Mai on Saturday afternoon.
The accident took place between kilometre makers 34 and 35 on the Chom Thong-Inthanon Road in Chom Thong district at about 1pm on Saturday, said police.
The pickup plunged into a roadside gully and overturned. Two men and one woman were killed on the spot. Two others sustained injuries and were rushed to a local hospital.
According to a police investigation, the pickup overturned after it failed to negotiate a curve.
