
Police arrested 85 illegal migrant workers at a construction site in Muang district of Samut Prakan on Saturday morning.
Pol Col Wichit Boonchinwutthikul, chief of Bang Pu police, led the raid at the construction site of The Miami Bang Pu, a large condominium project being developed in tambon Thaiban, around 9.30am on Saturday.
The developer of the project, J.S.P. Property Plc, is listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
More than 200 men and women from Cambodia and Myanmar were rounded up and taken to the Bang Pu police station for questioning.
Of the total, 85 migrants, including 10 from Myanmar and 75 Cambodian nationals, were found to have entered the country illegally. They are being held in police custody on charges of illegal entry.
The remaining workers were released after their employers produced their migrant worker cards to police.
