CHACHOENGSAO — Four tourists from China were slightly injured when their bus slammed into the rear of a lorry on Friday.

The bus operated by SC Somchai Service Co with 26 Chinese on board was travelling from Pattaya to Bang Khla district in Chachoengsao when it struck the rear of a 22-wheel lorry on Highway 365 in Muang district, said Pol Lt Wilasini Chansawang, a duty officer at Muang police station.

Four passengers sustained injuries when they jumped from the bus after the impact. They were sent for treatment at Buddhasothorn Hospital, she added.

The drivers gave police conflicting accounts of the cause of the accident.

Singha Nuampipat told police that the truck carrying electricity poles had cut in front of his bus as it changed lanes.

But truck driver Saoha Yaempet accused Mr Singha of misjudging an attempt to overtake his vehicle while it was travelling in front of the tour bus.
