Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Sunday morning led cabinet members, high-level officials, and a group of people in a cycling rehearsal to ensure readiness for the Bike for Mom 2015 event that will take place on Aug 16.
Gen Prayut was out in front of the group of cyclists as they departed from the Roya Plaza at about 8.30am.
The cyclists moved along Ratchadamnoen Avenue onto Si Ayutthaya road, and then headed for Victory Monument in three columns. One column included the prime minister, members of the cabinet and the National Legislative Assembly and permanent secretaries. The second column was made up of heads of departments and regimental commanders, and the third included the general public.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn will lead the real event on Aug 16 to mark Her Majesty the Queen's 83rd birthday which falls on Aug 12.
