PRACHIN BURI - After two days of rain the Prachin Buri river overflowed and flooded the old market of Kabin Buri Municipality in Kabin Buri district early Wednesday, reports said.
More than 120 households along the river's banks were inundated and the water level kept rising.
Flooding began in riverside communities about 4am. In only one hour the water level at the old Kabin Buri market rose to about 70 centimetres and continued to rise, prompting residents to move their belongings to higher places.
The Prachin Buri river takes water from two main streams - Kwae Phra Prong, which runs from the Soi Dao mountain range in Sa Kaeo province, and Kwae Hanuman, from Khao Yai National Park.
In Prachantakham district, adjacent to Khao Yai National Park, water from Ta Khro waterfall flooded at least 10 houses in Na Khaem village in tambon Bu Fai.
