CHON BURI - The body of an Irishman was found floating about one kilometre offshore from Pattaya on Monday morning.
Pattaya police were informed about 8.30am that the body of a foreigner had been found at sea. A team was sent to recover it.
The man wearing only shorts and was face down in the water. There were no signs of injury on the body, police said. A passport in his pants pocket identified him as an Irish national, aged 50.
The police believed he drowned, but did not know the circumstances.
His body will be sent for a postmortem examination and relatives will be informed.
