Teachers seek protection in South

PATTANI: Southern teachers will seek talks with provincial governors, the southern army chief, religious leaders and other security officials about getting better protection.

The Confederation of Teachers of Southern Border Provinces made the decision at a meeting on Saturday in Pattani after losing another one of their colleagues.

Nanthana Kaewchan, the 51-year-old director of Ban Tha Kam Cham School, was gunned down while driving home on Thursday in Nong Chik, Pattani.

    "Teachers seek protection in South"

    Can't blame them for that.
    I would too.
What kind of sick minds justify killing the people who are educating their children ?
    Madness.
    Simply madness !!!

I have to agree genii, if the government can not solve a problem then the people will rise up eventually. If they do, it will get bad, but what choice do they have? If my kid's teacher was killed in this manner I would make it be known that I am not happy about it. If the teacher gets killed, then the children are at risk as well.
It seems there is just something wrong in this situation. More than what we all know.

Teachers in the south, don't hold your breath. This regime is too busy attacking peaceful demonstrators and monks in Bangkok.

Quite a moral to kill your educators.

It's quite simple; the Thai government does not care about the 10 year civil war, the 5,000 plus innocent taxpayers killed and many more injured daily in the south. They just don't care! I challenge anybody to show concrete results that prove otherwise.

When are the good people of the south going to stand up against the killers.
