Skytrain extension opening delayed

The new Pho Nimit and Talad Plu BTS skytrain stations will open for public use in mid-January 2013 instead of Dec 5 as earlier planned, deputy Bangkok governor Teerachon Manopaiboon on Tuesday.

Pho Nimit and Talad Plu stations are new additions to the Silom line, section Sapan Taksin-Petchkasem.

Mr Teerachon said Independent Engineers (ICE) inspected the stations and facilities and said they are not ready for full operation.

BTSC is a real professional company. The ICE said the system is not ready so BTSC open later to ensure their passengers safety. At the Airport Link the ICE recommended to shut the system down due to safety concerns but the SRT just don't care about it. I am pleased to be customer of BTSC the best transport system in Thailand!!!

the BTS is always crowded. The MRT is better, but not by much. Both systems must be widely expanded with more stations and more trains. It will be a key to development in the future of this city. I see both expansions going on but there need to be many more in my humble opinion. For an example new york city has many more subway lines and that means those people stay off of the streets. What do you think will happen to BKK as more people drive every year? I can walk faster then drive some places

Bangkok needs so many more lines and MRT as well .They should blanket the city so people dont have to rely on standing in traffic with lights controlled a policeman .
