Korkaew's bail revoked

The Criminal Court on Friday revoked bail for Pheu Thai Party list MP and red shirt co-leader Korkaew Pikulthong for violating his bail conditions.

Mr Korkaew is one of six United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship who have been charged with terrorism. All were earlier released on bail.

Discussion 16 supermax : please enlighten many commentators here your logic that a motive to overthrow the government carries a lighter weight than disrespecting the court.

Thank you D14 for setting me straight. It is perfectly clear to me now. In Thailand, disrespecting the judicial system is expressly forbidden while overthrowing the government is acceptable (and sometimes it is even encouraged).

The criminals get to be in government instead of jail .What a sad time we are in now .I hope someone with a spine gives us the moral kick in the pants we need .

    To ringmaster
You have to weigh carefully each piece. To try to overthrow government and to not respect Justice Institution is not the same. I let you to think about....

I can understand a gag order from the judges barring them from talking about their case in public but banning them from speaking or taking part in political demonstrations makes the courts look unreasonable and unfair. Just over a week ago, a court allowed General Boonlert to have his political rally to overthrow the government.

Many of my friend people doesn't understand, because Korkaeow is MP he will go to the jail only when there is not meeting in Parliement. This is the thai drama comedy... You have to understand that all redsirt/Pheua Thai MP are on party list to protect them with immunity... So what the Court say today is no meaning until the Constitution change the right of MP....

So now the wheels begin to turn, banning them from leaving the counbtry is a bit weak, we already have one ex-politican living outside and hes been convicted, so that was a stupid move, seizeing their passports and freezing their assests that will hurt. far better idea.

A fair and sensible decision by the judges. Some people just don't understand they can't threaten and intimidate the Courts of this country. Bring on the next bunch.

D2 : Since they can't resist the temptation to incite or publicly condone political violence, which is NOT a human right, the Court had to add conditions they might understand. Nothing bizarre about that.

#2, Pointoffew is perfectly right, surely for that the reaction dislike. Maybe ok to ban for "talking" (even to say happy new year?) but not to ban for "taking" part to a political meeting. It's is a constitutional right and the Constitutional Court remember it last week.
