Ministers vow boost to border economy

CONNECTIVITY, EASE OF TRAVEL PRIORITIES FOR THAI-MALAY FRONTIER

PHUKET : Thailand and Malaysia have pledged to ramp up efforts to promote economic development in border areas in a bid to improve the livelihood of those living there.

The two countries made the announcement yesterday during the final day of the 3rd Joint Development Strategy Ministerial Meeting and the 12th Joint Commission for bilateral cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia.

Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul and his Malaysian counterpart Anifah Aman chaired the meetings.
