Border patrol joins military attempts to ease tensions

As part of efforts to ease the border conflict with Cambodia, the army has now included two companies of border patrol police in the military forces stationed around Preah Vihear temple, Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha said yesterday.

The army chief was speaking one day after attending a meeting between Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, the armed forces leaders and the national police chief Adul Saengsingkaew.

The army will continue working with the government to defuse border disputes with Cambodia, he said.
