UPDATE Fire in Din Daeng community

BANGKOK - A fire broke out in a community near the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB)in Din Daeng area on Tuesday evening, reports said.

The fire started at a densely populated community in Soi Boon Shu Si near the ONCB office at about 6pm and spread quickly and destroyed more than 20 homes. The firefighters brought the blaze under control after almost one and a half hours.

Authorities are inspecting the scene to assess the damage and try to identify the cause of the fire. One person was injured and two were reported missing, according to unconfirmed reports.

    When I see the poor workmanship and outdated electrical wiring I sometimes wonder when Bangkok will burn to the ground.

    And it is not the workers responsible but greedy and corrupt businesses and politicians.
